Round One…….Fight!

As you know, last Friday Danelle received her first Chemo treatment. After it was over, Friday night and Saturday seemed pretty typical. One of the hardest parts of the weekend was waiting…. Waiting to see how bad the side effects were. Waiting for them to start and just be over with. Wondering how long they will last. That’s tough to deal with.

God looked after her and took care of her. Her tummy felt a little off sometimes, and she had a little less energy. But she was a rock star. She rested through all the symptoms and on Tuesday she seemed to be feeling better. We are still watchful and making sure she doesn’t over do it. But I am so proud of her and how she has powered through. Your prayers are working. Keep them coming:

  • Please pray that this medicine is kicking that cancer’s butt
  • That “God uses this opportunity to show off” (quote from Jeff Fischer…I like it)
  • That her chemo symptoms continue to become milder

I also want to say that we cannot believe the tidal wave of love, support, and generosity that we have received from our family and friends. The texts, cards, calls, and gifts have meant so very much to us. Saying “Thank you” just doesn’t come close to how we feel. But….Thank you. We are blessed to have you in our lives.

This dog has not left her side. He knows what’s going on.

  5. Praying for you guys every night. When I was really nervous about chemo and how it was going to affect me, it helped me to think of chemo as my ally- that it was going in to my body to get rid of the cancer. Stay ahead of the nausea- there are several really good drugs that can help with that. Rest and let God and the medicine do their work. We love you guys.
