The Fight Continues…

I often wondered what it would be like to hear the words ‘Your cancer is back,’ when I finished treatment in May of 2023.

I went to the ER this past October, thinking I had a kidney stone, but instead I heard the words I had hoped to never hear again. I think the pain I was experiencing helped to numb the shock of the words and for that I
am thankful. So, here we go again, at almost exactly the same time of year as the first time around.

When I asked the oncologist what to expect of chemo this time, she said most people do ok. She also laughed and said it’s hard to tell a person who feels well, that chemo isn’t to make her feel bad. I am feeling good, and would never have even known it was back had it not been the pain that sent me to the ER. I am working and walking and doing the things I can to keep active. I am traveling. I was recently able to see the Grand Canyon in Arizona and the Valley of Fire state park in Nevada.

The plan is for chemo to start on 11/22. It will be once a month for 6 or so cycles, with scans half way through to see how it is working.

Thank you to all who have reached out and have already been praying for us. Please continue to pray with us for…

  • no more spread of the cancer and that the cancer will respond to the chemo
  • that there will be no negative side effects
  • for Barron and the kids as we navigate life with me going through
    chemo again
  • that we all continue to keep our eyes on Jesus and not the circumstances that life brings our way.
