And the scans show…..

….no more active disease! This news was met with tears of joy this morning. I am thankful for a break from chemo and all that goes along with it. I am thankful for the chance to go to KY this weekend to see family and friends I have not seen in several years. I am thankful for the opportunity to see Noah graduate in a few weeks. So many reasons to be thankful after these past six months. Next steps are more scans near the end of summer and a new medication for the next two years that has shown in some women to prevent reoccurrence for as many as 7 years after initial diagnosis.
Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me and my family. I am confident the prayers of the saints have sustained us in so many ways. We probably won’t do too many more health updates, but will let you know when the next scans take place. Maybe we will post some pictures of our family out enjoying life and thanking God for his new mercies each and every day.

AWESOME NEWS!! CONGRATULATIONS!! GOD IS SO GOOD!!! Danelle, I love your Mom and Dad and I know they are ELATED!!

I don’t know if you remember Eric McWhorter or not, but he is like me, normally a goofy person more interested in making people laugh than saying anything profound, but I do believe that he said one of the most profound and uplifting statements I’ve ever heard to our friend and member of our Home Church Group, Steve Knight, who had just been diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer !! Eric said, “Steve, just think of the testimony you are going to have for God when you beat this disease!” Wow! And it wound up being SO true!!

Steve is now 3+ years with clean screenings and listen to this – Steve insisted his brother have his PSA checked and his brother, sure enough, was positive Stage 1 Prostate Cancer (he got treated quickly and is doing great!) and he hadn’t ever been tested and didn’t plan on being tested until Steve’s diagnosis!!

Steve now attends Southside’s Wednesday night cancer outreach at the Hope Center, a place where out-of-town cancer patients stay while receiving treatments at Lexington hospitals. Steve’s journey and him being alive and well, telling patients sitting right across the table from him that they can get through this with God’s help, is exactly that testimony Eric encouraged Steve with almost 4 years ago! I didn’t mean to write a novel, but everyone is so happy for your and your family and I know your testimony for God will be amazing too!! May God bless and keep you near Him Always!!👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
