Today is a big day for Danelle.

If all goes according to the doctorβs plan, today should be her last round of chemotherapy.
The chemotherapy has been effective in reducing the cancer. While the surgery got rid of the largest concentration of the cancer, the chemo has continued to reduce what remains.
To give an example, there is a test they do with Danelleβs blood that measures the CA (Cancer Antigen) levels. I donβt fully understand how it works, but it can be an indicator as to how much the cancer is growing. At the start of this, Danelle had a level of 475. That number grew to as high as 2000 in January.
At her last visit, it was at 48. It was very encouraging.
We remain hopeful but careful. Hoping that today will be her last treatment. Hoping that the chemotherapy has reached every area that it needs to and has killed this wretched disease. I have been very proud of her bravery and her resiliency through all of this.
Thank you again for keeping her in your prayers. I keep hearing how folks continue to remember and pray for Danelle. We have not posted as frequently because she has truly been doing so much better.
We are continuing to pray for:
- That the chemotherapy continues to work well
- For strength for Danelle as she works through the treatment today
- That today will be the last treatment that she will need
