As was mentioned in the previous post, today was scan day. The appointment was in the morning and was somewhat uneventful. The scan did not take long and the bloodwork was quick as well.
Later in the day, the nurse called and told us to prepare for chemotherapy on Friday. This came with mixed emotions as she gave us few details as to why. But the Nurse did say that the Doctor would call later in the day. Removing the cancer seemed logical, and she is ready for it to be gone. But, if another round of chemo is what they planned, then it must be needed. Danelle’s response was “It’s all in God’s perfect timing…”
Later in the evening, the Doctor called Danelle with more details. Most of the areas of cancer have decreased in size by half. Half!!! The chemo seems to have reduced the cancer in the areas in her upper torso, liver, and especially the ovaries. The Doctor summarized her discussion by saying “It’s hard to make a Cancer Surgeon ‘happy’, but I am happy with these scans.”
God is good. His mercies are new every morning (and evening). We won’t pretend that all news will be good news. But we will celebrate when God shows his power and might through his good works and the people he uses to make those good works happen.
Thank you again for all your encouragement, gifts, calls, messages, and definitely prayers. While she still presses onward, it helps so much to know the army of family and friends are behind her. Thank you!!!
For our prayer warriors, please pray:
⁃ That the team of doctors and nurses at Duke continue to have good ideas and make good decisions.
⁃ That this next round of chemotherapy goes well.
⁃ That the chemo shrinks this leach of a tumor down to NOTHING!
