Tuesday, Nov 22nd, Danelle went in for a CT scan and a CT guided biopsy. The trip to Duke was slightly dramatic, as we had a flat tire on the way. But we managed and were able to keep things on schedule. For the procedure, they would take an image of her chest and then take a biopsy (sample) of different areas of the tumor. She was brave and strong during this procedure, and made it through very well.
The biopsy results take an estimated 7-10 days to get back, and there is a Thanksgiving Holiday mixed in. This is frustrating. While we haven’t gotten the results from the biopsy yet, our prayer is that we will get the results soon. We did get a brief summary of the CT scan and it was not as favorable as we were hoping for. There were some areas in the upper part of her body that will need to be addressed. But they believe that it all seems to stem from the original ovarian cancer source.
Next steps: Chemotherapy is scheduled for Dec 2nd. We are hopefully that the date stays, or is able to happen sooner. The biopsy results will determine this, as it will tell them what kind of chemotherapy\medicine that she will need.
Requests for Prayer:
- That the biopsy comes back soon and provides favorable results.
- That we are able to start the medicine that Danelle needs as soon as possible (Dec 2nd).
- To be strong and courageous during some difficult rounds of treatment.
