January marked the third round of Chemo for Danelle and everything went well. She has found a rhythm with the Chemo sessions and has had a great deal of courage through this tough procedure.
Afterwards, Danelle has had some side effects from the treatment. Individually, they are not severe. But adding them all together can be a challenge. The newest one has been related to elevated blood pressure. She is monitoring and managing it well.
On Thursday, Danelle had her scheduled three month scan. With the recent winter weather, we were unsure if Duke was going to have their offices open. But they opened at noon and Danelle’s scan was set for 2:30. It’s a quick process, and then is a waiting game.
This morning (Friday), we met with the Doctor and got some great news from the scan! All spots had been significantly reduced. So the medicine is working! The area around the kidneys\ureter had completely gone away. The radiologist and the doctor did not see anything in that area! There were a couple of spots that were still there, but they had definitely shrunk. The PA and the Doctor both were pleased at what they saw.
Next steps? Chemo will happen today, and then she is scheduled for two more sessions over the next two months After that, there’ll be another scan and they will advise on what is next.
We are very grateful for the good news and so very glad for the work that God has done. The folks at Duke have truly been great and He has really blessed Danelle through them.
Thank you all for all your prayers and support. Your prayers truly mean the world to us and make all the difference. For our prayer warriors, please pray that…
- Chemo process goes well today
- Chemo reactions and medicine side effects stay low
- These other cancer spots disappear entirely
